Smoke Heat Extract Systems (SHEVS)

Jet-fan systems for parking garages
Due to a more intensive use of space, building functions increasingly disappear underground. In particular, parking garages go underground. The increased fire risk requires expertise on the extraction of hot smoke during a car fire. In 2002, the Draft Practice Guidelines were introduced in the Netherlands, these guidelines are seen by various municipalities as too light or incomplete and they are individually adapted. In view of this diversity, a new NEN guideline is been developed, the NEN6098 which will be in force from the first quart of 2010. Given its many years of practical experience, Exiss can design a smoke heat control system based on this new reulation and work completely factory- independent.

With the implementation of NEN6098, regional differences will continue to exist with the local fire departments. Exiss makes sure there are no unexpected surprises afterwards by maintaining a pro-active approach to the fire department.

Smoke and Heat Extraction Systems (SHEVS) are important to guarantee a safe escape route in case of fire. It simultaneously ensures a safe intervention route for the fire department and limits damage due to smoke. By including adequate provisions in the design phase, established in a schedule of requirements (SoR) approved by the fire department, the foundations are laid for a properly functioning Smoke Heat Extract System.
